Serger Classes

Thursday, June 18th  - Missy Billingsley
Strip Pieced Zippered Bag (serger)
You just have to check out this easy bag! Victorian insertions are combined with gingham check and classic solid fabrics in strip-pieced fashion. And if you have never put in a zipper with your serger, you are not going to believe how easy it is. Before class is over you’ll be thinking of all the ways to use this bag and how little time it will take to make a few more.

Friday, June 19th – Missy Billingsley
Easy Serger Purse (serger)
This cute little purse will become a favorite grab-and-go accessory that is just perfect for a shopping day at the market. Beautiful cotton laces, beading laced with silk satin ribbon and heirloom sewing techniques are quickly serged into a special bag with “purse-nality.” It’s a must-have to carry all the necessities and maybe a few small delights that you pick up on your shopping adventure. In fact, if power shopping is on the agenda, you may just have to make more than one!

Saturday, June 20th – Kathy McMakin
Serger Baby Bonnet (serger)
You do not need any serger experience for this class.  Heirloom sewing by serger is sooooo easy. Bonnets are always a great gift for babies and an ideal project to learn or review serging skills. The ruffle-edged bonnet is created with bridging, Victorian embroidery, French lace insertion and ribbon ties. This will be your project of choice for many years to come whenever you need a special handmade-by-serger baby gift

Machine Classes

Lace Cathedral Windows Sewing Caddy (machine)
Lace Cathedral Window looks so complicated, but is it really? Not if you see and sew the easy, fully illustrated, step-by-step instructions.  Perfect for classes, this handy sewing accessory keeps notions at your fingertips. One long edge of the caddy slides under your sewing machine or serger and the opposite pocket edge hangs out of the way of your work while holding all of your tools at the ready. Never go looking for notions again! When you’ve finished sewing, the organizer – with lovely lace cathedral windows – folds and ties to keep everything neatly organized. What a great gift for all crafters! This class is easy for beginners and fun for intermediate and advanced levels.

Ribbon Crazy Patch Pincushion (machine)
Ribbon crazy patch is “sew” easy – much easier than fabric crazy patch. The heart-shaped caddy is ribbon crazy patch on the front with a pocket on the back to hold scissors, a ruler and maybe even a seam ripper. This is one project you will want to make again, but next time it might be used to hang on a wall or door knob for a tooth fairy pillow or you could omit the hanger for a wedding ring carrier. Make one for all of your sewing (and non-sewing) friends, but don’t forget to keep one for yourself!

Smocking in the Hoop Pincushion (machine)
You will love watching your sewing machine as it does most of the work in this fast and fun project. While the design begins with a smocking-in-the-hoop CD and a pleated insert, you will be adding your own personal touches that will make this adorable pin cushion a unique addition to your sewing tools or a treasured gift for sewing friends.
