Martha's Sewing Room

Since 1993, Martha has hosted her own television series. Martha's Sewing Room is an inspirational and informative program which teaches various sewing techniques. Each show contains segments on heirloom sewing, hand embroidery, silk ribbon embroidery, doll dressing, crafts, and occasionally some home decorating projects. Martha's Sewing Room can be seen in 49 of the 50 states on your local PBS station. If the program is unavaila ble in your viewing area, please call your PBS station and request air time for this wonderful and encouraging te levision program. The more requests by viewers, the better chance of local airtime!

In most episodes, the final segment entices viewers to follow Martha upstairs into the parlor for an examination of various antique clothing pieces from her "Vintage Collection." However, at the end of some of Martha's programs, there is a segment called "Sewing from the Heart." These extra- special moments recognize those seamstresses who use their sewing talents to create various projects for people who are less fortunate. People featured in the past have completed projects benefitting local hospitals, charities, shelters, and police stations. If you or someone you know performs this type of charitable sewing and would like to be nominated for the Sewing from the Heart segment, please submit a letter to Martha Pullen Company (Attn: Sewing from the Heart) containing the person's name, address, telephone number, and a brief explanation of what makes this person eligible for special recognition.
